Maybe in the next lifetime…
I’ve learned to live,
With the affections
Of your charm…
Loving you from,
A distance hoping in time
I’ll grow numb…
You’ve grown,
Comfortable and confident
In your own skin…
While I watch you love,
And laugh… still stuck
On what could’ve been…
I’ve learned to live,
With the hurt of not being
The one you hold…
I’ve accepted I’m powerless,
All I can do is watch
Both our lives unfold…
It’s hard saying goodbye,
When we never really
Got passed hello…
Maybe in the next lifetime,
We’ll find each other
And you’ll see I’m worthy
To never let go
I’ve learned to live,
With the torture that
Comes from your smile
I’ve gotten used to the pain,
It only lasts for a little while
You’ll find success and,
Happiness…. I won’t be
Part of it all
Oneday I’ll have a daughter,
You won’t be the one
She’ll call mommy
When she starts to crawl
I’ve learned to love,
While my heart’s still
On your grasp
I’ve learned to happily,
Live with the lie
Until her love ripes
I’ve learned to be content,
With these broken times
Maybe in the next lifetime,
You’ll look for something
And find it in my arms
